Nice to Meet You!
Being on time has never been my forte.
I either run early or late, but hardly ever on time. When I was younger, I always imagined myself being a twenty-something-year-old writer living in New York, wearing penny loafers and toting a Field Notes front-flip notebook all over the city. It would be equal parts grungy and glamorous. Oh, yes! AND I would have a blog to document my adventures - not entirely unalike this one.
I give you all this information because I guess there's something premature about starting this blog today. I'm not living the life I figured I would be *quite* yet, but I'm ready to give this thing a go now. I'm always either early, or late. I guess in this case, I'm early.
I've always believed the most difficult part of doing anything to be starting it. Ironically, it's also the most exciting part of a project. The beginning is a time of unmatched possibility, and for an optimist (like myself), that feeling of "anything can happen" is one that I can't help but revel in or chase.
To be entirely transparent, I have no idea what I'm doing here yet. I have a very specific reason for starting this blog right now - aside from wanting to get a head start on my blogging journalist fantasy, that is. I'll let you know why in a later post.
So. I suppose I'll figure it out as I go, and I hope you'll join me on that adventure, whatever it may look like. Maybe this will be the only post I'll make on here and it will get lost in the corners of the Internet and I'll forget about my little blogging experiment until a random Saturday three years from now. Maybe it'll become something like a diary. Maybe it will fall somewhere in between that range. Time will inevitably reveal the answer. And I can't wait.
