Hi reader! I'm Madison, and I'm glad you're here.

I can still pinpoint the moment I decided I wanted to become a writer. It was in the third grade, and I'd just penned a SEVEN page long story for my writing class. It was only required to be one.

Since then, I've earned a degree in Journalism, filled (well, half-filled) countless notebooks, and gotten some pretty exciting bylines. And I still have a lot of writing to do. Here's some of it.

I grew up in a sleepy town in Fairfield County, Connecticut. My hometown is primarily known for having an overabundance of furniture stores, windmills, and really amazing bagels.

I graduated in May 2020 from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where I spent just as much time studying as I did admiring the Hudson River.

The Fun Stuff:

Likes include: Puns, penny loafers, sunflowers, stacks of books, The New York Rangers, bubble tea, patterned mugs, extremely detailed playlists, film photography, sunsets, vintage comics, beach days, handwritten letters, fortune cookie quotes.

I can't stop talking about: My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, Phoebe. (You'll be seeing a lot of her on this blog, but you can also follow my adventures with Phoebe on Instagram by following @cuteandcavalier.)

Star sign: Leo sun, Virgo rising, Scorpio moon. (P.S. Bonus points if you know all three of your signs, reader!)

Prized possession: The Underwood Typewriter my parents gifted me for Christmas.

My favorite place in the world: Piazza del Duomo in Florence, Italy.

You can usually find me: Taking the 4 or 5 train downtown, probably with a massive decaf iced coffee in my hand and indie music in my ears.

So...what's the blog about?

You're probably wondering what you're going to see on this blog, and the answer is a little bit of everything! There's going to be content about my journey as a writer, and posts about life as a (nearly!) 22 year old in general.

Me in my cap and gown, complete with a silky cheetah print bow scrunchie.
